Welcome
St Athan is a community in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, encompassing the villages of St Athan, Eglwys-Brewis, Flemingston, Gileston, and West Aberthaw with a rich history, strong local community, and historic ties to RAF St Athan.
A Community Council is the most local tier of government, representing residents and acting as a link between the community, public services, and higher levels of government. It addresses local issues, manages projects and services, and promotes community well‑being. Councillors, whether elected or co‑opted, work transparently and ethically, following Codes of Conduct, Standing Orders, and Financial Regulations. By engaging residents and providing a forum for local decision‑making, Community Councils ensure voices are heard and help shape services that matter. St Athan Community Council is fully apolitical and not affiliated with any political party, serving the community fairly, openly, and without bias.
